Today my heart cries out for these seniors and their families (condolences to all). I can hear their cry for help ringing in my head, from Quebec village of L’Isle-Verte to Calgary AB. Why are these vulnerable group suffering so much? As one of my 84yr old senior, mentioned few days past, today society "DO NOT CARE" people my age feel we are a bother, THUS, society wish to get rid of us. That was sad, coming from a senior.
What I
find incomprehensible
is the failure of these facilities not equipped with adequate sprinkler system and sufficient care workers at night. Requisite competencies
and experience requirements should be mandatory of all care-givers.
I have been in these assisted-living residence at night, Irrefutable fact, most are equipped with only 1 care-giver plus a kitchen prep and at least 75 residents, many in wheelchairs, using walkers, some with dementia, Alzheimer and are in need of assistance, as they are not capable to follow direction.
I am angry! To know owners of senior housing are skimping money in hiring trained, competent and sufficient staff, thus endangering the life of our seniors.
